Board Opportunities

Kids Included Together (KIT) is a dynamic, impactful nonprofit social enterprise organization seeking new Board Members with a passion for disability inclusion and expertise to support our bright future. Might that be you? Read on!

What is Kids Included Together?

Kids Included Together is the national leader in disability inclusion and behavior support. We provide engaging online (KIT Academy) and on-site training, innovative consultations, expert policy and standards development, and empowering coaching that gives people who work with children a "want to, can do, and will do" attitude toward welcoming kids with disabilities and other diverse needs.

KIT training breaks down barriers to disability inclusion by lowering stress and building confidence in child and youth-serving professionals working in childcare and youth development programs such as before and after school programs, including US Military Child and Youth Programs, Head Start, Boys & Girls Clubs, YMCAs, and AlphaBest Education, to name a few.

What is involved in being a KIT Board Member?

  • No fundraising required! KIT operates using a social enterprise business model with 95% earned revenue. We do expect each Board Member to make a personally meaningful financial annual contribution.
  • Attend 6 virtual Board meetings per year.
  • Active Board Committee participation.
  • Provide mentorship or guidance to the outstanding and highly qualified KIT staff.

What expertise are we seeking?

Human Resources Expertise

KIT is seeking an HR professional to join our Board as we prepare for our search for a new CEO in the coming year. Additionally, we are evolving our model from primarily focusing on training to one with a greater emphasis on coaching for teachers and after school providers. As such, we need HR expertise to help guide our recruiting and talent development strategy as we transition to a new CEO and expanded programming model. Interested in using your HR skills to advance our mission toward a world where disability inclusion is the norm? Let’s connect!

Finance Expertise

KIT is seeking a strategic finance leader with expertise guiding the growth of companies from $2 million to $10 million in annual revenue, coupled with an eagerness to learn about nuances of government contracts. This is a great opportunity to provide important financial oversight as KIT enhances its coaching capabilities to drive lasting behavioral change. Interested in using your background in growth finance to support us as we work toward a world where all kids can meaningfully participate in their communities? Let’s connect!

Coaching / Last-Mile Behavior Change Expertise

KIT is seeking an innovative leader who can provide Board-level guidance to the organization during a time of transition. We are moving from a model primarily focusing on training to one with an emphasis on coaching to drive lasting behavioral change. As such, we need a thought partner on enhancing KIT’s coaching capacity to best serve youth with disabilities. This is a great opportunity to help develop strategies that turn KIT’s renowned training into changed mindsets and practices that benefit all youth.
