Katie Hopkins, MEd
"Inclusion is promoting programming to benefit all kids, regardless of ability levels or differences."
Katie joined the KIT team in July 2023 as an Education and Training Specialist. She holds a Bachelors degree in Therapeutic Recreation and a Masters degree in Education. She has been working with people who have disabilities for the past 8 years and is passionate about inclusion. Prior to KIT, Katie worked in public settings as a Camp Director, as well as in private therapeutic offices with military families for kids who need outside therapies like applied behavior analysis (ABA), occupational therapy (OT) and speech therapy (ST).
Creating programming that allows all kids to be fully included, regardless of life’s challenges, has a soft spot in her heart. She enjoys helping parents and children embrace inclusivity through adaptations and flexibility that promote resilience in overcoming hurdles. Outside of work, Katie loves to spend time in the outdoors, skateboarding, paddleboarding on her Sup and traveling to new and exciting places!
